Crime Recommendations?

Post by srm628 »

Hey guys!

So recently, I have been super into crime stuff. :techie-studyinggray: I was wondering if you knew of any good serial killer books, whether they be fiction or nonfiction. I wanted to read some but haven't really heard of many.

Thanks, Sam. :tiphat:

Hi.

I love reading crime fiction and mystery. So I would strongly recommend Mary Higgin Clarks works =)

I'm going to say Virals by Kathy Reichs, because I love that series. I wouldn't say it's 'Serial Killer' though, it's more about forensic science. Still crime though.

I wholeheartedly agree, I love Kathy Reichs. I have never tried to read the Viral, but love the Bones series. Is it worth a read?

I would also recommend Agatha Christie and would offer as a suggestion And Then There Were None as a first read.

If you'd like to try a comedic series involving crime investigation you might pick up The Spellman Files by Lisa Lutz.

I would recommend Tess Gerritsen she writes the Rizzoli and Isles series plus other medical/crime thrillers. Another good one I like is James Patterson's Alex Cross series. They are excellent crime thrillers.

I love the Joe Pickett novels by C.J. Box. I have read four of them so far, and the rest are on my list!

If you like true crime, Ann Rule was a wonderful author who wrote many, many books on all types of murders and crimes. She even knew Ted Bundy personally, and wrote a The Stranger Beside Me, which completely chronicled his life, especially his serial killing obsession. She wrote so many true crime books, it would take forever to write them all down. Definitely worth looking into if you want to read true crime.

Mindhunter is a great true crime book if you want to get into the mind of both detective and killer. Lots of cases from a retired FBI agent who personally interviewed and helped catch most high profile serial killers and mass murderers. I found it more thrilling than most crime fiction.

The Louis Kincaid books by PJ Parrish are a great mystery/crime/thriller series.
