I would highly recommend the great late British author Helen Dunmore, which, regretfully, passed away much too early at 2017, due to the damn desease. She wrote fiction in various genres, including historical fiction, short stories and children novels, and she also wrote poetry. I read her novels - "the siege", "The betrayal", "Exposure", which are history fiction, and enjoyed them very much.

I think The MISOGI Method by Jody B. Miller is quite good and I will recommend it. She emphasizes stepping outside of one’s comfort zone to achieve success and live up to one’s true potential. Delightful read!

"Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen is a timeless tale set in early 19th-century England. It follows Elizabeth Bennet, a witty and independent young woman, and her complex relationship with the proud Mr. Darcy. As the story unfolds, the two navigate misunderstandings, societal expectations, and their own prejudices. Austen cleverly critiques the class structure, marriage customs, and women's roles of her time. Through lively characters and sharp dialogue, the novel explores love, reputation, and personal growth. It's not just a love story; it's a reflection on society and human nature. Austen's keen observations make "Pride and Prejudice" both entertaining and insightful.

Anne Rice is my favorite author, especially the Mayfair Chronicles and and The Vampire Chronicles, but she has written some historical stand alone novels as well. I also always enjoyed Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë.

As a former English Literature major myself I agree that most of the literature one reads in college is by male authors but I do remember reading a few female authors that stuck with me. Those female authors and some of their works are:
- The Yellow Wall-Paper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman
- Jane Austen - any of her works
- A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry (a play from the 1950s-1960s)
- Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus (1818) by Mary Shelley
- Jane Eyre (1847) by Charlotte Brontë’
- Nella Larsen's work such as the Passing

I am huge fan of Jasmine Guillory. I have read two of her books: Party of Two and While we were dating. She is a romance author. All of her books have a strong black
Female professional. The books are easy to follow and have some spice if you like it.
I highly recommend her ☺️
