I always read the book first. It's just so much better that way (in my opinion)

I prefer book first, because I’ll spoil people what happened on the movie but when I see some changes in the movie, it’ll be fcked up.

I prefer to read the book first, even when I know that the movie will disappoint me, because it always does. Exception made for The Lord of The Ringss. Now I try to avoid watching the movie if I loved the book, unless I've been reassured first that it's actually as good as the book.

I still remember the traumatic experience of watching The House of the Spirits after reading what is still today one of my favorite books ever. Horrified.

Always the book first! Although after all the years (maybe not that many!), it seems I would learn I am doing it backwards! Since the books is always better I get disappointed the movie lacked compared to the book. Maybe if I watched the movie first I would be so happy to read how much better it is in black and white!

Book first definitely. Sometimes, the movies edit some important parts and in the process they lose the very essence of the story.

Always book first. I want my opinion, take, and imagination to be the first thing to have hands on what I read. I find movies usually can put a haze over what I read. Not ruin it necessarily, just take some of the depth.

In my experience reading the book first is a must. There is so many details on the books that are almost impossible to adapt or realize with accuracy in movies.

Whenever I attempt to read the book first it just doesn't happen. Due to some or the other time constraint it stops. However, I would suggest a thorough read so the differences are clear and altercations have a clear reference.

I'm a book first, then movie aftetwards.
But I'm often setting myself up for disappointment, as the book is often more rich and can develop characters more fully than a movie ever can. Perhaps I should see the movie first, and then read the book. That way I could finish on a sweet note :-D

I read the book first of course and then try to relate it with the movie. It's really funny to point out the changes made in the movie and where the story deviates from the real book.

Book first because the movie does not adequately get the picture or they do but not enough time.
