Definitely the book comes first ! I've always felt that the movies haven't done any justice to the books. (can't miss all those extra details !) You can picturise the whole thing while reading a book, which is the best part!

Book first. Also, I would watch movie too but after a long time period, so that the scenarios from the book won't interfere when watching the movie.

If I had the chance, I would always read the book first. When there are movie adaptations, most of the time directors take liberties and change things from the book series. Additionally, many books have more context and more insights to character's personal thoughts/beliefs than the movies do.

I used to love movies as a teenager. But now as I grow up and life becomes more practical, I enjoy reading good nonfiction books.

Book first, because I can take charge of my imaginary characters and not be controlled by the actors or actresses who acted in the movie. Also, many times, only the books contain the original story.

I always try to read the book first. There are many hidden gems in a book that does not get portrayed into the movies.

For me, it's either... but I sometimes prefer reading the book first before watching the movie because I get excited to see what characters will look like once it's adapted to a film

I've always preferred to read the book before viewing the film. I prefer the first option because it allows readers to evaluate the book first and then criticize whether or not it meets the requirements to be made into a film.

I would say movie first. This is based off of my experience with the Maze Runner series where I watched the movies first and loved them, then read the books and loved it even more! When I watched the movies again I didn't like them as much because of how different they were from the books but couldn't completely hate it either because I had already once enjoyed it. I think doing it this way would help one to enjoy both the book and the movie. If I would have read these books first I would have definitely hated the movies.

I would choose the book version first. I am a visual learner and remember stuff much more when I see it rather than reading it. Because of that, I'd remember the movie too well and it would be very dull to read the book afterward, at least in my opinion it would.

First, read the book. Always. However, with a number of removed sequences and inept acting, the film will always be a disappointment.

Definitely the book first. I'd like to see what the original plot was before the filmmakers edit it. The book also gives a better understanding of the story and the characters.

I prefer film first and then book after. I like it that way because the film would have shorten the story and given me a summary of the book. I also love pictures and videos. I would live a book more if there are pictures and videos in it because it kind of makes the book more fascinating.

Book first always. I never watch a movie first because I tried that once with Matilda and I couldn't properly enjoy the book. It is easier for me to read the book then watch the movie because the book is usually better.

The movie, because I can find out if I like the story in less time and also because movies usually cost less than books.
