A Discovery of Witches

Post by Bianka Walter »

Hello everyone,

So, I see that A Discovery of Witches has been turned into a TV series. The series has a great rating, but I don't generally like to watch a series without reading the book first.

Has anyone read the book? Would you recommend it?
I've heard really mixed reviews about it...

I have read the trilogy and loved it. A forth book came out a few days ago.

I really liked the first book, but not the second. Looking forward to the TV series though.

I'm so glad I stumbled across this post. I had no idea that these books had been made into a series on tv. The books were fascinating! I so enjoyed the love story between the witch and the vampire. Now, I will have to look for these on television. Will it be on cable, net flix, or where?

I just watched the first season on a streaming service called Shudder. It’s like Netflix but for horror, suspense, and thriller movies/shows. It gives a 7 day free trial and is $4.99 a month if you keep it. I watched the season in three days, though very easily binge watch in a day.

I haven't read the books yet but I have watched the series. Having watched a lot of shows and movies with vampires and witches in them, I wouldn't say it was exceptionally good but I still found it very interesting and enjoyable and am eagerly waiting for the next season. It made me want to read the books even more so that's a plus. Those of you've already read the books should definitely give it a try. If nothing else, watch it just for Matthew Goode and you'll not be disappointed. :P

Hmm, thanks for mentioning this book! The series sounds very interesting. I do tend to like reading the books before watching a tv show based on a series. Based on other people's messages here, I'll definitely check these books out!

I haven't read the books but I have watched the series. The cast is amazing and the story was really intriguing. There's wonderful chemistry between the two main stars and the atmosphere of the show was perfect for the story.

I am so glad that I had the chance to read the books before I watched the series. I loved both.
