I don't know if someone said this already, but the movie of 50 Shades of Grey completely ruined the books for me. I had the whole imagine of Mr Grey and Anastasia in my head and although Anastasia played her roll very well, Mr Grey didn't entirely work into the roll for me.

13 reasons why
I was so excited when Netflix announced they were making a series, but once they made a second season that wasn't even based on the book anymore I obviously stopped watching it

Not a movie, but a series for me. The book Under the Dome by Stephen King was an amazing read and the series was just a letdown. I didn't even finish watching it.

Gone Girl. It just didn't live up to the expectations I had after reading the book.

City of bones movie in my opinion ruined the book series because I feel like they cut a few important parts and the actors should have had better interpretation on the plot.

Artemis Fowl. The movie was absolutely horrible.

Percy Jackson. 'Nuff said.

Shadow and Bone series ruined the book. I so hated the series, I finished it out of loyalty to the book. The characters were not good, but I like the story line. But the acting was the worse

I have to say; for me it's "P.S I love you". I read that book twice. Each time I read it, I was emotionally invested. I liked how the deceased husband did so much to make her wife go back on her feet and enjoy life without him in the letters. In short, to move on. But the movie wreaked all of that. It did not have the same vibe. The movie was more like the "new guy" involved and less about the deceased one. The movie depicted the woman moving on with her life quite easily in my opinion. The way I imagined the scenario from the book was heart wrenching and that feeling was not matched with the book. It was disappointing to say the least.

the paper town was a great book that gave you all kind of feelings happy, excited and intrigued by all the characters but unfortunately the movie was very silly and it didn't match all the feelings the book gave

I loved the vampire diaries books, would've absolutely watched a series with guardians, angels, demons and kitosune.

I would not call Eragon a great book, but as a young teen the movie was a complete let down as it barely followed the lore of the source material.

Most recently the Witcher series on Netflix. I don’t understand how the show earned a reportedly high audience in its first two seasons.

The Mortal Instruments was definitely ruined for me. So many inconsistencies between the movie and the book making it look like a conception of a totally different plot.
