Novelization of Movies/TV shows

While there is a lot of discussion about adapting books into movies, there is not about the opposite - taking a movie or TV series and making a novelization of the scripts or something set in the same universe, e.g. Pirates of the Caribbean tie-in books or the Star Trek novels.


So, are there any adaptations of movies or TV series you particularly like or any that fall short of the original?
