I freaking love musicals! My favorite of all time is Wicked: The Untold Story of the Wicked Witch of the West. If you're going to see one in real life, that's the one you should see. It's also a book, but don't read it before you see it, it'll be confusing.

Some I really enjoy. The Sound of Music, Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang, Dr. Dolittle, My Fair Lady, West Side Story, Grease, the original Willy Wonka, The Wall, Tommy, Blazing Saddles, and Across the Universe come to mind.

I can't get into on-screen musicals, it doesn't work as well to me as it does live, but I do think the recent Les Miserables film and its close-ups encapsulated the characters beautifully. I've had the privilege of seeing Hamilton, and I was floored, it was so amazing. Wicked in a fun one to see live, too!

It's not my favorite genre, but I do have a few exceptions. Mainly musical Disney films, admittedly. most times I get thrown off when all the characters suddenly break into a musical number.

The first musical I saw was Cats. I was a preteen and I loved it. I've seen several since, of course, but my favorite was Le Mouvement Final, the Sailor Moon musical final installment that I got to see live last summer in Tokyo. Next week I get to go see another Sailor Moon musical in Tokyo where the characters are played by girls from the pop group Nogizaka46. I'm excited because I thought Le Mouvement Final was the last SM musical ever (that's how they made it sound), but I guess it was just the last from that production team and set of actors.

Musicals are my favorite! La La Land is simply beautiful. West Side Story is a good one too- a classic. I read In the Heights and I could picture it in my head. The uniqueness of telling a story through song and dance appeals to me a great deal.

Musicals are very entertaining. The most recent one of the best I've seen is The Greatest Showman and there are many Disney musicals that are so great adults and children love.

I love musicals too, but unfortunately, I haven't been able to see any of the modern ones. I grew up on Oklahoma, Camelot, Annie Get Your Gun, and so on. Would love to see something newer.
