13 Reasons Why
Though I saw the movie before I read the book, the movie was actually based on the book.

A walk to remember was my world upside down moment. I loved the movie so much I couldn't believe that was a book when I learned it was 5 years later. Lol

Yeah, I didn't know A Time To Kill or Jaws were books first before they became movies. Same with the Green Mile and the Shawshank Redemption.

I was surprised The Princess Bride was a book as well. Now, it's my favorite book! Almost every movie I watch turns out it was a book. I'm just not surprised anymore. :)

While I knew Princess Bride is a book, I only learned in that the last three years Jurassic Park is. During that time I worked at a book store and was shelving Michael Crichton books and spotted the title. I was mind-blown, guys :lol2:

Howls Moving Castle & Kiki’s Delivery Service because I didn’t even know that they were a book, I assumed that Hayao Miyazaki’s were all his original creations. I looked it up later but about 5 films were based on books even the dreadful Grave of the Fireflies which was a movie that gave me nightmares as a kid & to this day. That is one I would NEVER read I cannot even to bring myself to watch the movie today even though I only saw it once as a kid.

I grew up with my mom informing me that most movies were a book first. I hated hearing it, too. The biggest movie/book shock was The Princess Bride. I watched it when I was in high school, instead of watching the Super Bowl. I really liked it. To this day it is still my favorite movie of all time, and I can quote most of it. I didn't learn about it being a book until 2 or 3 years ago. I actually finished reading it while I was at the hospital waiting for my niece to be born. It is one of my favorite books. I will say it is a hard book to get into, but it's worth it!

American Sniper, Howl's Moving Castle, Dune and Blade Runner (the book title is completely different in the last one though).
