While I enjoy both, books do not offer the same special effects such as horror sounds, lighting, and so on. In the end, if I had to choose one, it would be HORROR MOVIE.

I would prefer horror books over movies. I am not big on graphics, so I do not enjoy seeing the gore. With books, I can get the story without the gore.

I don't really like horror stories as they are just too scary for me and give me nightmares. If I had to choose between reading a horror story in a book or watching a horror movie on tv or at the movies, I would choose to read a book. A book would be slightly less scary for me, as it would be my own imagination presenting me with scary images. Somehow the images are scarier when presented to you on a tv or movie screen.

My imagination is a lot wilder than movies. So I prefer horror books. I find most movies mild.

A horror movie is what it is, whereas a horror book is only as scary as you imagine it to be, and since I can only handle so much of a scare, I'm going to choose horror books.

As much as i love horror books, they always never seem to scare me enough. Jumpscares in books dont feel the same way they do in a movie. Movies, for sure.

I like both. But depending on how much time I have and if my husband would be watching with me, I’ll just choose the movie most of the time.

I prefer the book than the movie. But books do deserve to be on the big screen. A great example is the "Amityville Horror", the movie is classic, but it left out details, which the made the book scarier. But I still like the movje.

Imagination can be a really powerful thing, therefore a book would have to have to be written with much detail. I prefer Horror movie, for the visual and the anticipation it creates, wanting to hide behind a pillow. I doubt I'd be hiding behind a pillow while reading.

A horror film can strike a variety of nerves. I get the shivers every time I watch a horror movie. In contrast, I have overlooked some of the best parts of a horror novel.

I prefer both but movie adds some special effects to the book :)
Anything horror is not my brand. It’s not like I am scared  but I don’t like expensive jokes :lol2:

I CANNOT watch horror movies. I will not be able to sleep for days. And I love books anyway so probably books. As long as it is good and descriptive.

It depends; if the Horror book is written well it might be as good as the horror movie, but as movies have the imagery power and engage all 5 senses with cinematography , it is obvious they have a better advantage of conveying stories better.
