Anyone see/enjoy the latest Captain Underpants movie?

Post by Storygamer88 »

I haven't seen it yet, but I loved the book, and I'm excited to see it soon enough. I like what I've seen from commercials, and I was just wondering if there were any other fans here too.

I think it can probably be good for a children's film too, for anyone who wants a push to seeing it :D

I took my 5 year old and he loved it! It was okay to me, but not as great as I thought it could have been.

Agreed. I watched it and found it a bit disappointing. I think they tried to cram too much into it, and I'm not crazy with the liberties taken. I also just didnt find it as humorous as I'd've liked - maybe I've outgrown the humor, or it just didnt translate well over.

I haven't seen it but I want to! I haven't really heard anyone talking about it so I'm going to assume it wasn't the greatest. I still plan on watching soon anyway.

Never thought I'd write these words, but: nowhere near enough Captain Underpants. The focus is on the kids and their relationship, with the Captain as a side story. I thought it was a fart superhero movie and...it is...but should have been more so than it was.

My children thought it was pretty funny. I grew up reading the books and thought it would be a tad different but after thinking about it for a bit, I hope it was just the first movie in a series.

I have never read the books, but I think it is quite a funny movie for kids.
I really liked the concept though.

I will give the books a shot :)

My husband was a big fan of the books, I had never read them but we got themovie for our sons and they loved it! I thought it was hilarious and pretty cute. Not to mention with Ed Helms and Kevin Hart, you know it’s going to be funny!

I used to somewhat enjoy the books when I was younger, but was never the biggest fan. I mostly admired the author for coming up with something so silly that a lot of children liked. I don't think I'll ever watch the movie though.
