I hate the movie! Not bashing on Jamie Dornan - I've seen him in other movies and he's quite okay. For some reason I could just not assimilate him into the Christian Grey persona. More than half the scenes were so cringe-worthy I just called it a loss on my part and did not see the films after the first installation. The book version was so much better.

Jamie Dornan has done a great job portraying Christian Gray. But I loved the character in the book more.

Absolutely the book. The book always seems to grasp the intensity of a character rather than in the movies. Characters can be portrayed different in movies then books as long as situations being modified.

Even though Jamie Dornan performed very well I would definitely choose Christian Grey in book anytime 😉.

His character was toned down in the movie, he was more of a fierce character in the book.

No. He is bad in both the movies and books. He is cruel, controlling and honestly scary .

I both watch and read those novels he played, and I must say I prefer him in the book.

The only reason why I choose Christian Grey in the movie is because of the actual visuals. With the book I imagined him how I like but the movie really placed things into context when I saw the actual character.

Definitely in the book. The movie ruined countless aspects of the book in my opinion. In fact the only reason why I watched the movies was because of Jamie Dornan's Christian Grey..... that goes to show just how awful the movies were for me.

I found the first book to be very poorly written. The writing or editing got better with 2nd and 3rd book. I always knew the movie version would be better. I agree that Jamie Dornan who played Christian Grey does not look anything like the character in the book.
