This could possibly be one of the only situations where I've found the screen adaption to be much better than the books. The books came off as cheesy and more suited for a tween. The tv series is more suited for ages 16 and up.

I have never read the books; I didn't even know that there were books! Now I definitely want to read them. I usually prefer books over tv shows, especially if the show was based on the book. I liked the first few seasons of Vampire Diaries, but I felt like the plot started to get tired.

I have only watched the TV adaptation. I liked the first three seasons. However, I eventually got bored as the show progressed.

They kept adding new characters and then killed them off. I was getting sick of it.

I actually like the Originals more than the Vampire Diaries. The Mikaelsons are really cool. I still watch the originals.

The Vampire Diaries is one of the best TV series I've ever seen. It tells us about Some supernatural creatures which are highly amazing and unique. It's a must watch serial

I have read the books and thought they are good, but I've seen just until the season 2 of the TV series.
