I have come close to crying while reading a book/movie but if I were to cry it would be more of during the movie rather than the book.

Girl on the Train and Harry Potter. For me, it's not the emotion itself that makes me cry, but my attachment to the books themselves. I cry everytime I read The Kite Runner too. I remember I sobbed for so long after I read that one.

There is this time i cried so much that my eyes ached. Anyone who has watched Collateral Beauty and The Shack knows what am talknig about. They almost have the same storyline. Some touching ones FYI.

The Virgo Speaks wrote:There have been many movies based off of the story line of novels that evoke emotion. My question is are there any books that have made you cry just as u would have done or did if you actually saw the movie? An example would be "The Fault In Our Stars" (I shed a tear or two toward the end)
Any book or film that involves animals getting injured in any way, always has me in bits.
Yes, I blub without any self consciousness what-so-ever.

Yes, mostly on movies especially if the actors and actresses are excellent in expressing what the story requires.

I know it's weird but I was pretty upset when Piggy got killed in the Lord of he Flies. I saw the film too and I struggled not to cry because of the people around. I really liked that guy.

I balled my eyes out when I watched "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," watched it again a week later, and cried again. It was one of the only books/movies that weren't spoiled for me before I watched it.
