I read The Bridges of Madison County and later a couple female friends and I went to see the movie. There the three (or four) of us were, walking out of the theatre and down the street BAWLING and SOBBING. One of us commented on how pathetic we were crying in the middle of the street but ultimately, I don't think any of us really actually cared. I can't remember for sure if I cried when I read it though - sometimes girls just have to have a good cry.

I almost never cry, period. The last movie that made cry was E.T. way back in 1982.

I did cry at the end. The Divergent series as well. The books that evokes my emotions are definitely the best ones!

I don't really like to watch movies based on books, obviously cause the boo is probably way better. So my answer is no, a movie wouldn't make me cry as easily as a book would with the same story line.

Book:
One Summer by David Baldacci made me cry while reading it on a public transportation.

Movie:
I cried when Sirius, Snape, and Dobby died. I also cried when Sullivan needs to say goodbye to boo at the end of Monsters University and when Andy said goodbye to his toys on Toy Story 3. Yes, I hate goodbyes.
Stay safe! Sending hugs

Funny enough I haven't, but felt thoroughly sad in a few I've watched, but it hasn't provoked me to tears yet

Sure i did. I have cried while reading and crying over the same book and its movie. Not just FIOS but also Harry Potter and other movies like Perks of being a wallflower. Its a great success of the movie makers is what I believe. these authors are bound to make us cry.

Oh yes! I wept while watching The Champ. That scene where The Champ died was my undoing... it broke my heart to see the little boy calling out to his dead dad.

Of course I cried while watching The Fault in our Stars. Who didn’t?! Almost every good book/movie makes me cry. I find it odd that it is a question if a book or film adaptation has made someone cry. If I don’t shed a tear, whether happy or sad, the book/movie was not all that good in my opinion.

I also cried at both the book and movie for The Fault in Our Stars. Another movie that was adapted from a book that made me ball my eyes out, was Bridge to Terabithia. That is one of the saddest movies I have ever seen.
