The one that stands out to me the most is The Mortal Instruments, I loved the series, absolutely hated the movie. They changed the storyline too! There was an important part of the story that should have been revealed later on in the series and yet they revealed in in the first movie (hopefully the only one) and (spoiler) they changed the ending, Valentine *won* and got what he wanted in the book but not the movie (also they made him look like a pirate ugh)

This isn't a book to movie adaptation but the movie adaptation I hate the most is The Last Airbender. I try to pretend the movie doesn't exist

The Golden Compass. It wasn't magical enough, or entertaining. Too long and slow.

Harry Potter Goblet of Fire was my fave in the series but the movie was sooo rushed I'm, it was very disappointing.

I hope HP gets a series like Unfortunate Events on Netflix

Clearly ERAGON. the movie based on Christopher paolini'so book was a very poor adaptation and made all the characters look like jokes. The storyline was cut short and the entire movie took on a sad Hollywood act.

Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine. I refuse to even acknowledge the movie. It was the worst.

Percy Jackson movies. It's like they based the movie on a whole different book haha.

Yeah, they usually cut the movie to a tenth of the book.

The Count of Monte Cristo which is a nearly-1000 page book... and each one of those pages is seriously necessary to the storyline. You just can't pack all that wonderful detail into a 2 (or even 5) hour movie.

Hannibal, the second book about Dr. Lecter, was actually a prequel. The book was so great! I was so excited for the movie. But, it was a flop. Left out whole characters from the story. Awful!

The "Gone, Baby Gone" movie adaptation was cringe worthy!! It didn't do the book any justice. I didn't understand why some of the characters physicality's and personalities were changed so much. I feel like most people that saw the movie without reading the book don't understand what they truly missed.

I agree how many did not see the adaptations of the Monte Cristo, both French and American - none of them can cover the fullness of the book.

I was disappointed with the Attack on Titan movie adaptation. They made a love triangle between Eren,Mikasa and Levi. The movie did not show much of Levi's awesome fighting scenes.

I was pretty disappointed with the Divergent movie series. I actually loved the first movie, but the other ones were not my favorite. I enjoyed the book series, aside from the ending of the last one. I kind of like to just pretend that there aren't any movies past the first one.
