Percy Jackson, Inkheart and Golden Compass. I love the books but the movies were just awful. I'm hoping for other adaptations.

James Franco's As I Lay Dying. I was so excited to see this and I couldn't even get through it. Too much split screen and not sure what he was doing. It just didn't work for me.

I was going to watch this film on TV but when I saw posts about Eragon being a poor adaptation of the book, I decided to just leave it at that and watch another movie to pass my time.

Confession of a Shopaholic. The movie was whack compared to the book. The writer is really good.

Ella Enchanted was a disappointment to me. I felt like the movie fell flat, and also they tried making it into a slapstick comedy. The book was much more deep and enjoyable.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 and 2. So much was skipped over or rushed. Hermione's torture scene, Lupin wasn't in it as much, Ron and Harry making up didn't really happen like in the book, Ron and Hermione's kiss scene, etc.

The Haunting Of Hill House by Shirley Jackson is a fantastic book, and in 1963 it was made into an even better film. Then it was ruined when they remade the film with Liam Neeson. It was dire.

Eragon is definitely terrible! It just seemed to miss the mark in every way. For people that haven't read the book and have only the movie to base a judgement on, it is difficult to convince them it's actually a great book!

A lot of them are disappointing, but Divergent was one of the most. I do not really care about those books any more, but at the time, I was very disappointed.

Women in black for me.
The film was terrible and absolutely nothing like the book or the stage show.

Although it wasn't entirely disappointing, I disliked a bit the third part of "The Hobbit." The other two had already lengthened the plot of the book far too much, even if the second one mixed up some good material along the runtime, but the third one was the last straw. The final battle, although I was expecting for Jackson to expand upon it, ended up all over the place, and the closing act was way too abrupt.

The Queen of the Damned. It shouldn't even be called an adaptation of a book, they just borrowed the characters names and wrote whatever they wanted. Its been like 15 years and I'm still bitter about it.

I see a lot of people that said The Mortal Instruments, I had kind of forgotten how bad that movie was because I enjoy the TV show so much. lol
