Lazaszeret39, you're right about Twilight. I was tricked into reading the second book because I was told there were werewolves and they would confront the vampires. Complete let down and a waste of time as well as a waste of paper and ink--pages of nothing printed but the name of the month! Also I was very disappointed in the lack of character development.

For me it was the 2009 BBC production of Dorian Gray which completely ruined what Oscar Wilde's original novel was all about.

I have to say that I think all the Harry Potter movies. I think if there weren't the books and only the movies I would have enjoyed them, but since the books do exist, each time I finished watching a Harry Potter movie I had the strong urge to read the corresponding book so I can remind myself why I love the Harry Potter book series. I especially disliked the The Half Blood Prince movie - they changed everything that I loved in the book!

Eragorn by Christopher Paolini. I loved the boy and his dragon aspect of that story and I hated the movie adaptation.

I don't actually like Romeo and Juliet to begin with, but the 1996 movie version with Leonardo DiCaprio is horrifying.

I love Romeo and Juliet and the 1996 adaptation of it. I strongly disliked The Great Gatsby with Leonardo DiCaprio, though.

I agree with a previous poster, the Twilight series was terrible. I didn't agree with the casting but I was also disappointed with the entire atmosphere of the movie.

I was also disappointed with Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. Again, I felt they cast the characters poorly.

I loved The Great Gatsby with Leo, but I HATED the soundtracks. Like, what the hell does Jay Z and Beyoncé have to do with anything related to 1920s?
Urgh.

Funny, we are opposites. I loved The Great Gatsby!

I loved the soundtrack! Nothing wrong with the old meeting the new.

Of course not, but it has to melt nicely, and it doesn't.
For example, Lana del Rey's style has EVERYTHING to do with The Great Gatsby, but Beyoncé and Jay Z? No, not really.

Coming Home by Rosamunde Pilcher was one of my favorite books ever, and I was eager to see it in film. I won't say the film was actually the WORST, but it was disappointing in a number of ways. The worst, was in some of the casting choices, that in my humble opinion were poorly done. Not that the acting was bad, only that the one who did the choosing , may not have read the book as carefully as he might have.

That being said, I purchased the video, and actually watched it quite a few times, in spite of my complaints.

I agree with Percy Jackson. I liked who portrayed the characters, but they pretty much butchered the storyline, and the mastery that Rick Riordan used to weave the story. Although I liked it as a movie, I didn't like the second one, and because I knew what really happened, I was extremely disappointed.

I would have to say World War Z was a huge disappointment. I've read the book over and over, and love it. The movie was horrible. It had nothing to do with the actual story of the book, except maybe the zombies. I also agree with Queen of the Damned.
