Rebecca. I really enjoyed the movie when I first watched it but then I realized it is based on a book and naturally my liking for it increased.
Imagine if we had no secrets, no respite from the truth. What if everything was laid bare the moment, we introduced ourselves?

I didn't initially know that "Pride and Prejudice" was based on a book. It is probably due to the fact that at that age I tended to read more child classics like Tom Sawyer, Prince and Beggar, The Carrot Seed, etc.

Schindler's List (titled Schindler's Ark by Thomas Keneally)

The Godfather- MArio Puzo

Breakfast At Tiffany's- Truman Capote. I like both equally as much. I love Audrey Hepburn!

What are some movies you didn't believe were initially books? Which one did you like better?
I feel like most action series such as James Bond or Jason Bourne are meant for the big screen, simply because there are so many action scenes that I feel like it would be difficult to translate into writing. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that these popular movies were actually based on movies. I read the first Jason Bourne book and I was quite impressed by how the author described the action scenes, but still I would never have guessed that these staples in pop culture were based off of books.

The Martian -- Andy Weir
I'm not sure why I assumed it was only a movie, the plot just didn't scream "book" to me I guess. Haven't read the book yet though so I can't pit the two against each other.

The movie I didn't know was a book was the Twilight series. When I found out, I immediately read it, but unfortunately didn't meet my expectation.

The second season of the Netflix series "You" was released when I discovered it had a book. I quickly found and read the first two books. I also waited patiently for the third book to be released before reading it. Even though the book was the original source, I preferred some aspects of the show.

I had no idea the Twilight Saga was a book. I liked all the movies in the franchise, but I haven't read the books yet. I have a feeling the books will fall short of my expectations.

Howl's Moving Castle- I remember watching the anime when I was a kid, and it wasn't until I was much old did someone tell me it was a book first

Most action movies and iconic franchises like James Bond or Jason Bourne I find hard to believe are based off of books. How would an author describe all the action and fight scenes? But I read the first Jason Bourne book and I must admit, I was really impressed with how the author detailed the fighting in layman's terms while still capturing the intensity and excitement of watching it happen.

The Fault in our Stars

I was amused the day I discovered that it was based on a book. I had to look for the book and read it. I enjoyed the book more than the movie

Shutter Island and Schneider list, I didn't know they were book adaptations to movies. I was surprised to find out and I look forward to reading those books, just that I can't find them anywhere I look
