I recently watched Life of PI after finishing the book. I think the movie did a pretty good job capturing the essence of the story but I do wish the ending was a little more clear (I had to explain it to my husband who had not read the book). Beautiful visuals though!

The last movie we saw was Split. After watching split, I had to go home and watch Unbreakable! Split was such a good movie. We absolutely loved it. It had just the right amount of suspense and horror and thrill. Loved it!

Just watched Lights Out. I have a weakness for horror movies, and this one was a pleasant surprise, very much enjoyed it. Probably an 8 out of 10 (or more).

The last movie that I saw is Soul Man. It was funny and good. The language is strong but Bernie Mac and Samuel Jackson are crazy, laughable and silly.

Big Night

(Five BIG Stars) * * * * *

A comedy/drama about two immigrant brothers from Italy trying to start their own restaurant in the U.S.A. but are having a hard time convincing American patrons to accept traditional Italian cooking which is unfamiliar to them and as a result their business is failing. The older brother is an excellent chef and the competing restaurant owner (Ian Holm) is trying to hire the brothers but they insist on remaining independent.

They roll the dice with the last of their savings on a "big night" make it or break it dinner.

Here's a clip .... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4lZcEY4nII

In my opinion this movie has one of the most beautiful, no dialogue, endings in cinematic history.

Last movie I saw? "A Dog's Purpose." My fiancé really wanted to see it. It was a solid...meh. Two out of four. Pretty cheesy.

Finding Dory. And I give this movie a 5/5 star rating. It was a very light and funny movie, and I think Disney fans of all ages could enjoy this movie as much as I did.

"The Martian", 4 out 4. It was amazing. I went into it thinking I was just humoring my hubby and that I'd read while he watched but I was mesmerized!

Passengers - 5/5! Great movie with very human ideas. Love, loneliness, sci-fi, a sense of infinity, making the best of the situation, creating life of your own. It was very unexpected considering the trailers made it seem like a danger sci-fi flick.

On Valentine's day I went to the dollar theater with my friends and saw Fantastic Beasts. It was a pretty good movie overall but I think the main mail character could have been played by a different actor. The actor that was selected - whos name I cannot recall - was not very expressive in his face. I think that that is a big part of acting.

The latest movie I saw was "Europa Report". It was being taken off Netflix, so I had to see it for a third and final time. Even though it has 3/5 stars for some reason, I absolutely love it. It's one of my favorite sci-fi films and I highly recommend it!
