What do movies do better than books?

Add mesmerizing soundtracks that make a scene more impactful. While imagining a book scene, that's the only part missing. Movies execute it brilliantly. Most iconic movie adaptations have amazing soundtracks too!

As visual, rather than textual, stimulus, they display content much more quickly than can a book. Movies, then, are better vectors to reach and inform a vast audience. Moreover, the concrete images of film are easier to remember long after their display than the imagined ones required for reading.

Definitely visual and sound quality, but then again while reading there is also a type of movie with sounds playing in my head. I think watching tv is more a shut down of the mind to me.

In my perspective, I find movies' use of camera angles and shots to be rather effective - giving more suspense and setting the scenes better, however books on the other hand provide deeper meaning and complexity into the character by letting us know their inner thoughts.

Offer a visual representation of the scene. There is so much that can be left unsaid in a movie and up to interpretation, simply by use of camera angles or the actor's facial expressions. I find in this way, emotions can be better portrayed, suspense escalated and so on.

I think movies get the action and plot right most of the time. Sometimes books have events or details that just feel irrelevant to the story, so I think that movies are good at summarizing the content, plot, or purpose or a story.

Movies have an advantage over books because they are able to convey the story through stunning visuals. As we know most humans are pleased by seeing things. They bring life to the characters that it may be hard for a book to do.
