Just curious. Why wouldn't you read the book, even after having watched the movie first? Books are usually better than their film adaptations. I enjoyed reading The Lovely Bones as it evoked many emotions which the film could not fully capture.tsh1001 wrote: ↑21 Jan 2020, 15:04 Anyone ever have any of those "bummer" moments...where you watch a show or movie, only to later find out it was, in fact, a book first.
Examples: The Lovely Bones (Alice Sebold) is a book to movie that I watched and thought "wow this would have been an amazing BOOK" then found it was actually a book.
You. Netflix series. Obviously an intense thriller. "Hidden Bodies" by Caroline Kepnes is the book in which the series is based on. Now THAT would have been a great read..
What were you disappointed about watching before reading???

What movie didn't you initially know was a book?

Yes same here, loved both the book and the movie.Barbie_sidhu wrote: ↑22 Jun 2020, 02:58 The movie "Me Before You". I loved the movie but loved it more once I realized it was a book already.

I totally agree with you. The book, in my opinion is poorly written. The movie, the story is a masterpiece, but the book...it was the first time when i was actually disappointed by the bookSMAhmed wrote: ↑25 Jun 2020, 19:26 I didn't know that Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk was actually a book first. The movie is great fun and does a good job of discussing topics of masculinity in an interesting and visually appealing way. The book is similarly weird but this was one of those cases where I think the movie just did it better, it was a story well suited for film in my opinion.

As far as I remember, it wasn't mentioned in the advertising that it's based on a book series.
