What's your go to comfort food?

Post by Maryalle »

Comfort food is one of the greatest categories in food, in my opinion. Everybody has a different one and because humans aren't just one-dimensional beings, every person probably has differentiating comfort foods that they go to depending on the circumstances.

My top 5 comfort foods, in no particular order:
- Burgers
- Sinigang pompano (a Filipino soup that uses the pompano fish)
- Sandwiches (specifically a Subway sandwich with herb and cheese bread, turkey, swiss cheese, tomato, lettuce, banana peppers, chipotle sauce, and mayo)
- Chips and dip
- Rice and any type of roll (spring roll, pork rolls, etc.)

Oooh that’s a good question! I do love comfort foods, especially when I am sick. My go-to comfort food when I am sick is probably soup with warm bread! But I do love mac and cheese or some good old fajitas.

Most of my go-to comfort foods are things that my mom makes. Homemade pizza and cornbread are my two favorites of hers. But my mom lives 6 hours away so I don't get those very often. I really like a big juicy burger, pasta with lots of cheese, french toast or pancakes, biscuits, and garlic bread. If I've really had a bad day I may just eat a whole loaf a homemade bread with lots of butter to make myself feel better.

Potato cakes, or I think they are called hash browns in some regions. I have eaten 20 at once when feeling very down...it helped at the time even if I felt guilty later! They go really well with applesauce, strange as it might sound.

Pizza, Chicken, Burgers, Ice cream, Chocolate, Cookies Definitely Subways.

Basically all that stuff that's supposed to be bad for your health.
