Lost Caramel recipe

Post by writerlady1904 »

Hello,

For years I used a recipe my Grandmother used for making soft creamy caramel. The recipe came out of an older Southern Living cookbook. Probably from 1960's or 70's. It called for condensed sweetened milk and olio. It cooks for nearly an hour...but that is as much as I can remember. Does anyone have a Southern Living cookbook from around that time that has CANDY making recipes? From that same issue, I also got my recipe for hot spicy peanut brittle and Sugar Plums. If that helps? Thank you in advance!

This sounds like a good recipe but i don't know the book. You can check YouTube for similar recipes, you would find so many there.
