Spaghetti, olive oil, garlic with a sprinkle of cheese. It's a cheap meal that will get me through just about anything. Oh, and any type of eggs - egg on toast, scrambled, fried, poached, boiled. I sometimes roast a big chicken and that's good for two or three meals in one form or other - I can even use the leftover carcass for soup as well.

Mine was always ramen noodles. Quick, easy and tasty...and very inexpensive.

When I'm broke I turn to rice. It's readily available and easy to prepare. It saves me a lot.

Whatever is left over in the cupboard and/or fridge. It's pretty easy to whip up a risotto or flavoured rice using stock, rice, carrots, peas and corn and onion. It's nice to add some curry powder as well if you have it. Super cheap and there's usually a lot left over for next day lunches.

We also go for salami and cheese toasted sandwiches if we don't have anything else or can't be bothered to cook!

Same, definitely macaroni and cheese! If I can, I try to add cheap veggies or meat to it.

Goulash is mine as well! Though mine tends to have whatever leftovers would mix well into sauce and pasta. I also tend to eat a lot of sandwiches when I'm stretching the budget.

Ramen with eggs beaten into them . Nothing more delicious than that. And I buy rice and eat it with eggs.

Ugali, traditional vegetables and matumbo works just perfect. It's a balanced diet suitable for a broke meal.

My friends hate me for this combo because they say it's gross but...

Pasta (slightly overcooked - I like it mushy), baked beans and grated cheddar cheese. It tastes pretty good.

My favorite broke foods that are also filling are:
Spam mac and cheese
Rice or ramen (I try to add an egg to both of these things!)

Or breakfast for dinner, french toast is cheap and easy!
