Cooking Vegetables

Post by Anne Mutheu »

Vegetables especially the green ones should be cooked at a very low heat or taken raw. Some are supposed to be blended and taken as healthy juices in the morning.

Yes, sauté!!! When I was younger, my babysitter cooked all vegetables until mush. The worst. And so wrong.

I love to cook broccoli in a hot pan until it turns bright green and then adding some water and putting on a lid to have it steam. Usually, I'll add fresh garlic at the end just so it doesn't get bitter.

My mom also makes the best steamed carrots and add butter and honey at the end. They are my favorite!

I tend to eat my vegetables raw or make them into a stir fry :) If I'm running low on time I throw a bag of the frozen ones in the microwave, but I tend to work them into whatever recipe I am making.

I like my green vegetables raw and usually the rest cooked. Sauteed usually tastes better!

It depends on the texture I'm going for. I tend to cook my veggies except for when I'm making salads.

I steam our veggies most often. But I’ll also sauté them and roast sometimes too.
