One of the first meals I made was chicken alfredo and another one was baked mac and cheese with bacon. Very easy!

The first thing I remember making independently without help/ supervision homemade was Chile Con Carne.... I had to sneak while my mom was at work and I wanted to surprise her with dinner when she got home. I had looked through her recipes and that was what she had the ingredients for, so I went with it. It was good and she was happy. I was about 12 at the time.

Chili, I started cooking at 8 because my parents both worked. Chili was impossible to mess up.

Definitely steamed rice and tomato sauce when I was 8. That day I was home alone and hungry. It's something I can never forget cause I ended up burning the rice and the sauce ended up too spicy and salty.

The first "real" meal I made on my own was my freshmen year of college. I hosted a Passover Cedar in the basement of my dorm building. I cooked matzo ball soup and latkas =)
