They turned out wonderfully. The problem is I might eat them all in a few days. :)

Gingerbread cookies without a lot of icing. I'm not a huge fan of sugar cookies.

I love the gingered cookie. The sound of it when it cracks after a bite makes me feel nice.

My two favorite cookies to make during the holidays are the pre-packaged ones with reindeer or santa colored onto the front (they're delicious and cute) and I've always loved the holiday themes--so I'll eat them during other holidays as well.

But then there are the cake mix cookies. They just taste a lot better than regular cookies, in my opinion. You can find recipes for them just about anywhere, but the basic premise of it is that you buy cake mix (chocolate in my case) and add eggs and oil before mixing them into a dough you can roll out and cut up to make whatever cookie cutter shape you want. It's great fun for kids, as well. Adding flour as you do it makes it much less sticky and taste a bit better.

I'm such a simpleton, that I stick to the basics. I love a good, gooey sugar cookie! I can eat them all throughout the year and not just for Christmas!
