Nutmeg cookie logs are my favorite Christmas cookie! They’re unique and taste amazing with frosting on top.

I make a chocolate mint cookie with melted Andes mint chips in the batter.

They turn out packed with flavor and the mint screams holiday.

A little powdered-sugar on top and they look great too!

When I was little it was gingerbread cookies. Now I just make an apple pie because everybody wants it (but mostly me).

Gingerbread cookies equal Christmas cookies for me. Choosing the shapes with my kids, decorating them with gusto and just eating them 'til they come out of our ears.

Molasses Spice, which is a soft version of gingersnaps with a several different spices. They're very easy to make and they box up and mail well. The spices make them festive for the season.

Grandma always made several batches of snickerdoodles and sometimes a few batches of peanut butter cookies (extra crunchy pb!).

Still, fudge is what I associate with the holidays since our neighbor used to make good sugar cookies and we'd trade her a few sets of fudge, some with nuts and some plain, for some of her cookies.

My favorites are called "Martha Washington balls" and they are kind of like truffles. They are special to me, because my Mom has made them every year since I was a child.

I don't really have a special type of cookie for Christmas. A cookie is a cookie and what makes it special is Christmas.
