I want to say around 10 - 12. I received Betty Crocker's New Boys and Girls cookbook from my aunt for Christmas and that helped get me started. I still have that book. My favorite recipe is for Chocolate Chip Cookies.

I can't remember how old I was that time. But I started cooking when I was still in elementary, my grandma loves to cook so she thought me some of her recipes at the very young age.

Probably when I was 9 or 10. I first learned how to make scramble eggs which went great with toast.

I've helped my mom around the kitchen since I was about 11 or 12. But I didn't start cooking all my meals until I was in college.

As for me I started cooking at age 10 with the basics of boiling an egg. Soon after that I started the heavy duty stuff with the help of my elder sister.

In high school my friends and I would cook meals together, however it wasn't until college that I really developed a love for cooking.

I think I was around 9 or 10, but I don't remember exactly. I think the first real thing I made (not just buttered toast or something microwaved) was scrambled eggs. Both of my parents are good cooks, and they expected all of us to help prepare and clean up meals. I think younger kids can start learning to cook with small things: I let my little boys help measure and stir things with my supervision and they love it
