I started cooking at probably 8. My mum would leave me to it and watch from where she sits.

I started cooking at age 10, my grandparents allowed for their grandchildren to start an an early age. It paid off because my wife and I share the responsibility of cooking for our children and grandchildren which really feels good knowing that their being taken care of.

I Started at the age of 10 I used to always watch my dad cook all the time when he was always in the kitchen or I would watch my mom. Then when I turned 18 I cooked on my own for the first time learning basic cooking then I've been cooking ever seens. I'm no pro or anything but cooking just takes alot practice the one thing I would want to learn is the grill.

I started at the age of 9, although my mum wouldn't let me do it but I was so lousy about it then; I will always report her to anyone close who could talk to her. this sounds really silly you know, but I won at last....she let me do it and it feels good being in control of the kitchen at that age.

I guess that question relates to what you believe "cooking" is. If it means making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches then probably about 10. I was fascinated with making cakes and pies at about 15. I didn't learn to cook at a young age as you can see.

I didn't learn to start cooking until I was much older. Around 35. In college, I relied on takeout and dorm room potlucks. When I started working, I was too busy to cook. Most of my meals were from fast food joints and restaurants. Now that I'm older, I can appreciate being able to cook a healthy meal. In fact, I prefer cooking over fast food or most restaurants.
