I started at the age of 7. My mom is a caterer and most times she travels to do her job. So I'm in charge of preparing meals till she is back.

I honestly ain't sure at what age, probably 7 or younger. In my culture women and girls are in charge of the kitchen. I'd spend all my time around my mother after school, so at some point I started helping her out. My first meal was Chapatis an Indian/East African dish. A tough meal to cook for a beginner but they came out OK.

I started at 12. I got into trouble with mom so to avoid punishment I had to start making the food before she comes back.

I think one of the reasons why parents do not allow their children cook even when they have come age is that, they are scared that they might set the kitchen on fire

I was 8 or 9, I think, when I started cooking. But by the time I was 13, I was making at least half the meals for our family of 6. And I ALWAYS made the meals when we had company by that time. (My mom is a decent cook, but didn't really like doing it, but I loved it."

I started cooking when I was 7. My mom taught me how to make rice. From then on, I started boiling and frying things. I couldn't use the oven until I was older. And when using the stove, I always had to use the back burners.

I started cooking when I was 13 with a chicken dish. My parents were shocked on how I was able to cook that dish without having any prior knowledge of cooking.

I started cooking when I was eleven. My nanny thought it was very important for me to develop cooking skills as soon as possible. Thanks to that, I currently cook almost anything.
