I completely agree that good made from scratch is the best! I made a post-workout snack today called energy balls. I mixed almond butter, honey, oats, raisins and a little bit of cut up chocolate chunks together, rolled them into balls, and put them in the fridge. They are delicious!

The last thing I made was a batch of chocolate chip cookies. I was pretty sloppy with my measuring, but they still came out fairly well! It's been a while since I've baked, I'd forgotten how much fun it can be.

I make bread every week. I love a hard, crusty bread so I use a simple recipe that cooks in a cast-iron dutch oven. The hot steel makes a great crust!

Nothing. I loathe cooking. Luckily, my boyfriend enjoys the kitchen so I don't starve. I do make small, simple meals and since I'm healthy, i keep it real simple: ground meat, veggies, and some form of healthy fat. Oh and I love bacon. Fat is good, sugar is bad. Vegetables are easy to cook, so I have that going for me!

MMMM this sounds so yummy right now! It's freezing here and homemade chicken noodle soup would be great!

Today's pasta with vegetarian sauce. It was easy and it ended up better than I expected. I put some of it away for tomorrows lunch :)

Fluffy small pancakes with fresh strawberry jam. My kids love them and usually snack whole day on them if I make a bigger batch.

My 2-1/2-year-old grandson was my baking partner just last Saturday. We made monkey bread from scratch. He is really into cooking and does very well. Cinnamon is so good for you and we can use sugar substitutes that still taste good and sweet but make it a bit healthier. You may know it as pull-apart bread, but all the same, it is just a favorite and never lasts longer than it takes to cool off.

My cooking partner is really focused, cracks a better egg than I do. He now has his own apron and Chef's hat, compliments of Grandma and Grandpa for Christmas. It was also handmade. We make a lot of things and always from scratch. Good for the imagination and the taste buds. :)

I talked about this in another thread, but I got sick of packing frozen meals for work lunches, so I grabbed a can of chickpeas and made myself a salad! I made it with fresh herbs, a vinaigrette made with lemon juice and olive oil, salt and pepper, and shredded pecorino romano cheese!

Beef pot roast, with carrots, onions, potatoes and green beans. Going to reuse those veggies tomorrow and make beef stew.

Last thing I baked was a dense, decadent, sugar free chocolate cake...at thanksgiving.
