How I feel while cooking varies widely. I can enjoy it well enough if I'm not around my mom because growing up I had to hear about every mistake I made in the kitchen  . So as an adult I have an "If you want me to cook you something then you need to stay out of the kitchen" rule. With that in place, I do alright.

Cooking makes me feel adventurous and apprehensive. We experiment a lot with different flavor and texture combinations. Most experiments turn out delicious but sometimes...

Since I'm not really a fan of cooking, I'm always anxious to see how it'll turn out. So, it can be really stressful at times.

Depends on the situation. If I'm at work, I tend to act more hurried to ensure I have meals finished for residents on time. At home, it is more relaxed as I can listen to music and go at my own pace.

I used to think cooking was a drudgery to be avoided. Now it is an adventure and an important way to nourish my family.

I love the whole process except the shopping for ingredients! The preparation calls on my need to organize and optimize, the actual cooking brings my love and caring to the forefront, and then joy when something turns out well. For me, the whole process makes me feel happy and productive. It's a bonus when days/weeks/months/years later, my "audience" (could be family, friends, etc) recalls that dish and how it made them feel or what they loved about it - or how awful it was that it made us all laugh.

I'm a chef who enjoys making homemade meals, but there's some days I can't find the motivation after work to go shopping and making supper. On some of these days, I do Blue Apron so that I don't have to shop for anything and I have all the ingredients I need to still make a delicious meal. I splurge on it about once a month and really love it for the days that I lack motivation, but still want a good meal.

Oh - and I love when my child asks me if I'm making box macaroni and cheese or homemade. If I say homemade she shouts - yay!!
