Favorite cooking videos?

Post by DATo »

Favorite cooking videos? I have two shows which I can heartily endorse.

Laura Vitale - Laura in the Kitchen - She is now 25 years old (I think) but she came from Naples Italy when she was only 12 and has, unbelievably, no accent at all. Her father owned a restaurant and she worked in it. She is known for her authentic Italian recipes borrowed from her Nona (grandmother) but she also has posted over 500 recipes of food from all over the world. Her videos are made in her home kitchen not in a studio. What I really like is that she tells all the small details which are so important to successfully duplicating the recipe.

Italian Sunday Sauce
(As an Italian myself I can vouch for "authentic") ~ 9 Minute video

Chef John - Food Wishes is a professional chef. Along with his great recipe descriptions he has a very good sense of humor which is spontaneous and adds a very nice garnish to the video.

New York Cheese Cake ~ 5 minute video

America's Test Kitchen. I watch the show on PBS, but also check out videos they provide online. Since I'm a vegetarian, and they do a lot of meat dishes, there are a lot of recipes I don't use. But I've learned a lot of techniques and tips from the show.

A few years ago, I used to watch Chef Brad on television, which I can't remember the name of the show (unless it was self named), which is where I learned about quinoa, farro, and all that good stuff. Milkstreet has a show and a podcast and the Chew! ๐Ÿ˜Š I like how the recipes from these shows are simple and not time consuming.

I haven't checked online for videos for Chef Brad or Milkstreet, though.

I didn't realize Michael Pollan had a cooking series! I love his work. I will have to search for it :)
