Olive oil sounds like the better choice. I did cook with coconut oil recently because that was what was there.

Coconut oil for cooking, as it can withstand high heat without oxidization changing it into bad cholesterol, but olive oil for low temp applications or for use in a homemade salad dressing. Butter or coconut oil for baking. Other oils (with the exception of grape seed oil) contain unhealthy trans fats, as does margarine, or they oxidize into the unhealthy form of cholesterol when heated. Don't just believe a post -- do your research. :)

I've recently started to use some coconut oil in my cooking. It is apparently very healthy.

Olive oil from those choices is healthiest I think but I like butter's taste :)

I use olive oil while cooking. It is much healthier than butter and margarine. But I use butter sometimes due to its health benefits.

I would go for olive oil, it contains good fats that are a great benefit to one's well being. Research shows that olive oil is: great for heart health, it may prevent high blood pressures, may help prevent you from depression and osteoporosis, it could lower your risk of Alzheimer’s disease, amongst many other things.

I prefer olive oil or margarine. I'm lactose intolerant, so in my case butter would be the least healthy option!

Butter from grass-fed cows is a very great product to have in your diet. Olive oil is another great option. I recommend use both regularly.

It totally depends what you are cooking. The only I won't touch is margarine...I think it is a disgusting fake food products. Bugs won't even eat margarine. The less processed the better, but this war on saturated fat was only created by the sugar industry. Eat real food. Butter adds great flavor to a lot of dishes. Olive oil is also appropriate at times. For cooking and sautéing, I usually use light in flavor olive oil. You should never cook with extra virgin olive oil. That you should add to salads, marinades, and on foods after they have been cooked. I'm also a big fan of using lard as a healthy cooking fat. I render my own lard from grass fed hogs...some say lard is one of the healthiest cooking fats you can use.

I have tried coconut oil and I could not stand the taste. Olive oil is my go to for cooking.
