Today I am going to make/ in the process of making slow cocker white chicken chili. I got a slow cooker about 2 years ago and have only used it a handfull of times. I have looked for recipes on pintrest and in a few cookbooks but never got around to actually making them. Today will be my first attempt and I hope that it turns out well. What could go wrong really, you throw everything in, turn it on and it cooks itself. I was also going to make corn light bread to go with it. I think it will be a good mix of simi spicey with sweet. Any ideas of what else coupd be made in a slow cooker? Recipes would be fantastic!

Not today, but yesterday, I made vegetable fritters for my wife and myself.
My excuse is I only found this thread today.
1 zucchini
1 carrot
1 capsicum (or like I did, parts of three different coloured ones)
Couple of handfuls of corn kernels
3 or 4 chopped beans
a cup (ish) of plain flour
2 eggs

Grate the zucchini, carrot, and capsicum into a bowl. Pat down on the mixture with some paper towel to remove excess moisture. Then add the beans, corn, flour, and eggs. Mix through thoroughly. Salt and pepper to taste, and any herbs or spices if desired. Roll into small balls, and cook in a pan with a little oil of your choice.

Whipping Cream Pound Cake:

2 sticks butter (softened)
3 cups sugar
6 eggs
3 cups flour sifted (I use either Hudson cream or White Lily winter wheat flour)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup whipping cream

Cream butter and sugar together, add eggs on at a time mix thoroughly, add sifted flour, vanilla and whipping cream
mix well; grease a tube pan with butter and lightly floured. Bake at 300 degrees for 1hour and 45 minutes; test with tooth pick at center of pan and make sure cake is thoroughly cooked.

This recipe has been in my family for over 200 years.

I just made pancakes. The process of learning how to cook has made me love being in the kitchen. Let's just say its an art worth trying.
