I would actually like to eat the Harry Potter novelty food at the Harry Potter themed park, when I go there. Would like to make the trip soon!

Yeeeees! I love reading books with recipes in them!!! Even if they don't provide a recipe, I'll sometimes look up a way to make it on my own (butterbeer, Turkish delight).

First time I read about toad in a hole...I had to try it. It did sound rather fascinating in the book...

I spent several years (pre-internet) seeking out the Nero Wolfe Cookbook. It contains many recipes of foods mentioned or described in the gourmet detective's literary adventures. I've made several of the recipes from hotcakes (a favorite of right hand man Archie Goodwin) to leg of lamb, now a favorite of mine. The cookbook has excerpts from the books where the dishes are mentioned.

No I haven't but that is because the books I have read with recipes were when I was younger and not into cooking at the time. Lately the ones I have been finding are so old that I don't cook stuff like rabbit for example.

I had to make cucumber sandwiches after reading about them. I'm from the Midwest, and it was such an unfamiliar food my mother thought I was crazy for putting cucumbers on bread.

I don't think I've tried something new that was in a book, however, I often get cravings if a certain dish is mentioned in a book. For example, when I read "Eat, Pray, Love," I constantly craved pasta and Italian wines. When reading Nora Roberts' "The Guardians" triology, the characters often ate bread and cheese with wine, so I found myself eating a lot of fresh French rolls.

I picked up a tip for extra fluffy pancakes from one of Penny Reid's novels in her Winston Brothers (Beard) series. You wisk the egg whites and then fold them into the batter.

The recipe box is a good book, and filled with recipes!! I tried the apple strudel in it, it was good, especially because it was my first time making it myself!.

My favorite meal so far from a book is Chicken Marsala. I love trying it at different restaurants, but I haven't even tried to make it myself. I want to but I feel it might be a little ambitious

I honestly never considered the idea. Now that you bring it up, I will keep an eye out to see if there are any recipes mentioned in my current book that I can try!

No, except if it was the food I already knew. Than I made it right away because reading about food mostly makes me hungry. Food I don't know is more often than not hard to get where I live. And when the opportunity comes I don't try it because of the book, but because I don't know it yet.

I don't remember which book it was specifically, but ever since I read about moussaka when I was younger, I knew i had to make it. I tried it, and it's something I have whenever possible.

I cooked chicken with chocolate after reading Chocolat.
Oddly enough, it tasted like beef gravy 🤨
