Fried termites in Jews Mallow, all this may sound weird to many...including Kenyans! But there's this joint I visited near the Kenyan border with Uganda where it's a common dish. I actually loved it, my kids keep asking for it.

@Alicnim

This may be the all-time winner for the "Weirdest Food Dish" thread, but I am not condemning it and would actually be interested in trying it. Termites (and other insects) are an excellent source of protein and soldiers are instructed in training to eat insects in survival situations.

Mine is balut. It's a developing bird embryo that is boiled and eaten from the shell. It originates and is commonly sold as street-food in the Philippines.

I was a little surprised at this one because my friends used to eat the same thing and a lot of people asked them why they would eat it. It tastes nice. They made me eat that a couple of times.

I love mayonnaise (instead of mustard) and sliced pickles (instead of relish) on my hot dog haha. I know it is weird, I have been told and stared at but I don't care! :D

Gluten free pancakes made with one banana and one egg blended together. Tastes good but doesn't absorb the maple syrup well. Pour it on anyway. :P

Gannon wrote: 22 May 2016, 18:24 One of my favourite things to eat, and I suppose some people might find it weird is Vegemite on burnt toast. When I say "burnt" I mean that I don't take the slice of bread out of the toaster until smoke is filling the room. When I take the slice out it is black with ash falling off it. Yum!!! :)
Okay that is a no no for me. It's going to taste like ash :cry: Well we do like what we like. enjoy!
