How Do You Like Your Eggnog?

Post by Brett Linette »

Happy Thanksgiving to those of you who are celebrating it.

Is it eggnog season or what?

I like my eggnog with a dollop of whipped cream. I know some people like theirs with a dash of cinnamon.

What do you guys think? Do you like eggnog, and if so, how do you like it?

Happy Thanksgiving! I have never had eggnog. I looked up the ingredients and I am not sure I would enjoy it. It sounds like it is mostly egg and milk!

If you like milkshakes, I think you'd like eggnog; it's just a little less creamy, a little more savory.

Definitely cinnamon. The spicier the better in my opinion. I'd probably add cloves, nutmeg, and maybe a few other things.

I never thought to add cloves. I'll have to try and add them sometime. Thank you for the idea.

I like my eggnog with Rum, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Best of all I like it homemade in small batches that I put into mason jars. I am the only one in my family that enjoys it.

You can't have eggnog without nutmeg.

I've actually never made eggnog from scratch, but should I ever decide to, I'll remember to put it in mason jars. Thanks for the tip!

If you like dairy, you'll probably like it!

Thank you for wishing me a happy holiday. I hope you enjoyed yours more than I enjoyed mine.

When it's available, I put it in my coffee instead of using milk or cream. Another spice one could put on their eggnog is mace, which is the outside of the nutmeg, or I was also thinking something red with a little spice - low-heat cayenne or even paprika powder at Christmas, on top of whipped cream. A touch of molasses or molasses powder, or honey might also be interesting!

I like to add some rum to my eggnog. Then sprinkle some nutmeg and a bit of cinnamon on the top. Cheers!

We love eggnog. Normally we get the vanilla eggnog from Walmart. I have never actually made it. The one time I had it homemade, my grandma put coconut in it. It wasn’t too bad.
