We are gearing up for Christmas here, which means making handmade crafty gifts for Grandma and Grandpa. This year it looks like we will paint something with an apron put feats and handprints on a family tree or something like that.

In 2020 I taught myself how to crochet! (Thank you YouTube! ) I'm getting the hang of it and have started working on an Afghan using the granny squares pattern. My first big project was a baby blanket for my first grandson. That was so exciting and fun! I'm looking forward to many more projects and the money I make from reviewing books will go toward more yarn!

I am currently doing diamond painting. For those of you who don't know what diamond painting is, it is like paint-by-number and cross-stitch, the only thing is that you use beads. They are color coded with a letter.

I am making greeting cards. I also paint, but making greeting cards for people is so relaxing and rewarding. I love letting someone know that I care, that they are special and matter to me! It is a small thing to do, but joy can be found in the smallest of things...even in a smile!

I have been working on making a oval mat out of old duvet cover. It came really cool although my tension was a tight and caused some bubbles. But still enjoyed doing it. Thanks.

Like many people recently, I've been busy sewing masks for my family.

I've also dabbled in countless other crafts over time, and love hearing what everyone is working on!
Although I'm not working on anything now last week I tried to make another house. I was kind of cute but too bad and noodles are not like clay.

I have been into origami since childhood. It was my gulity pleasure. I enjoy devoting hours straight in a row to the craft.
Actually, I lose sense of time I get so indulged.

I love to sew dresses for my 5-year-old daughter. And particularly craftsy in this would be when I try to make motifs and hair accessories using DIY tutorial videos from the net.

I made mini book ornaments to share with the members of my book club. I got fillable ornaments and made miniature versions of all the books we've read this year to put inside. I finished them off by using my cricut to put the year on the ornaments in vinyl.

Reader Chavez,
I am stoked to see that someone on OBC is into origami. I do modular origami quite often. I like your goal; I have been working towards that same goal :) How are you learning the art? I picked up Marvelous Modular Origami by Meenakshi Mukerji (2007) a while back; I have immensely enjoyed working through it.
What kind of paper do you use? I am into Repurposing things; I have made one of Toshie Takahama's Jewels (from the aforementioned book) out of candy bar wrappers. It was fun to fold, but frustrating at the same time.
Have a great New Year!
