For me, I always thought making Crab Rangoons like they have in Chinese restaurants would be super hard but I don't think I realized it was just thin dough, cream cheese, and minced crab deep-fried.

Pasta. I specifically heard it’s hard to get the dough thin enough but I made it for the first time last week and was shocked. It doesn’t require a lot of kneading and I didn’t have a rolling pin or machine so I had to use a bottle of wine to roll it out. It turned out a bit thick but I thought it provided more flavor than store bought.

I haven't yet, but I hear macroons are especially tricky to get right.

Cinnamon rolls! I procrastinated making them for months, and then when I finally did, it was so much easier than I thought!

Good pasta, fried chicken, and Ramen. I fretted a lot. But in the end, you just had to know some basics to knock out good dishes.

Sewing a doormat, it seemed tedious and a bit tiresome but when I tried it, it was interesting.

I used to have a problem with rice, it would always come out either undercooked or overcooked until I developed my own recipe.

Lazy cake dessert I really thought it’s hard especially when you put chocolate sauce on too of the biscuits like how it become like a dough I was really confused.
One day I’ve tried it and I really did everything and it worked out, it was an amazing and delicious dessert!

Chapatis. For some reason I always managed to make mine so dry and crunchy but all I needed to do was make the dough better by making it with oil and milk to make it soft.

Dumpling, the giant one you just throw on top of beef stew and let grow into bread? Yes, that one. I used to think it was tough and straining until I made it and realized... My mom was just complicating things for herself.

Definitely fruit salad. I really thought this is time consuming and needs to cook many side dishes. However, I found out that I just needed to mix everything, including the canned goods one, to make a salad.

I used to think that making homemade Mac N Cheese was difficult since I could never get the cheese sauce to finish out perfectly. I finally took the time and effort to put my all into making a sauce that is neither grainy nor runny, thanks to trial and error. It turned out that the entire time had been quite simple; I just didn't enjoy reading directions.
