I love desserts. They make you feel so much better every time you eat them right? I am the first to try every new dessert trend.

I think having something sweet when you are sad could release dopamine which are happy hormones. Ice-cream does it for me.

Sugar from sweets is, as far as I know, easily converted to useful energy by the body. Some people, I've heard, tend to feel stressed when they get too much sugar so you are fortunate that you don't react that way! I'm not sure why else sweets would cause you to be in a better mood or what medically or scientifically is going on in your brain to make you happier, but you are probably not the only person. I think that is why they recommend keeping candy bars or candy in emergency kits - not to keep you happy, but to keep your energy levels up so I assume it's pretty common.

Oh well, I lose appetite for food when I'm sad or depressed. Maybe, next time, I'll try eating something sweet and see if I'll notice any mood improvement.

I am a foodie. Although recently I've had to go on strict diet plans . Turns out I'd been using food to block out my depression after going through a major trauma and I packed on a lot of weight. On my way to healing now but I'll forever be a foodie regardless. The amount of recipes I discovered,I'll continue to cook and enjoy them but in minute quantities this time😂

I have a sweet tooth, and I feel better binge eating snacks; and candy, especially when reading.

I always buy sweet things when I’m sad to cheer myself up. Gummy bears and marshmallows are my go to.
