I will listen to the suggestions at the very least. It is just common courtesy to do so.

I absolutely love getting suggestions from other people it really opens up the spectrum of books and I've read a lot of good suggestions and even found new genres to love.

I love being recommended books. It is how I found one of my favorite authors, after all. I try to at least give a new book a chance.

I like getting suggestions. Sometimes you may find a great book you may have overlooked.

I do like getting suggestions for books. As an elementary guest teacher, many of the schools I work for are using Donalyn Miller's The Book Whisperer which is a system for students and teachers to use a reading response journal. One part of that is recommending books to others. So when I walk into my upper grade classrooms sometimes students will come up to me and recommend that I read specific books. I generally take down the title and author and try to fit that book in before I work at that school or grade again so I can discuss the books with the students.

Generally no. My reading is based on what strikes my eye first with interest. If it appeals to me then I'll read it. I do get "OH you HAVE TO read this" and normally that makes me want to read the suggested book less.

I personally believe that the more suggestions I receive for books, the more opportunities I have at finding a great book. You never know when your going to find a book that you just can't put down, so if I were to not listen to suggestion, I would be cutting off my own nose.

This often happens to me in my favourite used bookstore. I'll get recommendations either from the staff/volunteers, or another customer that I may strike up a conversation with, and he/she notices what I'm buying.

I don't mind at all. It's a great way to get turned on to unfamiliar books and to connect with people.

As long as they are not too effusive in their praise for a particular book, then the suggestions are not too obnoxious. ;)

I don't mind getting suggestions. I do mind being required to read the book immediately and LOVE IT. lol I have a reading list a mile long and still growing. I will get around to the book when I am in the mood for said book.

That's how I feel.

I don't mind getting suggestions from others at all. It's a great way to discover new authors. However, I don't like it when someone gets pushy about their book recommendations--this happened to me when I told a friend that I didn't like the first book in the Twilight series. He insisted that the books were "awesome" and went on and on about how I should give the series a chance. Then one day, he gave me copies of the other three books out of the blue. I personally thought that his actions were too pushy and I never did read those books.
