Every now and then I'll put out a post on Facebook asking for book requests. I prefer to read series of books, rather than standalone stories. I've gotten some pretty good leads that way, but I've also found a couple just from searching on Amazon. That's how I found the current series I'm reading.
Random book suggestions I'm not likely to take.

Not really, I have signed up at Goodreads and I get suggestions from the system and since it is a diverse website, I get to surf plenty of links of books and then decide which ones to read. I dont personally like getting suggestions especially if it is in a genre I dont like

I like getting suggestions for books because it can introduce you to different genres of books that you usually may not consider reading.

Usually I like getting suggestions. However, it depends who the book suggestions are from. If it's from someone who I know likes to read "fluff", then I tend to ignore most of their suggestions.

Maybe I'm the only weird and different one but I personally don't like getting recommendations. I take pride and precision in picking my own books.None of my friends or family read so I am the book geek loner out there and have learned how to exactly pick books without any help or suggestions. In other words I KNOW WHAT I WANT TO WRITE.

I personally don't mind people suggesting books for me because when I get a good book I also do that for others.

I don't mind getting suggestions, but I'd appreciate it more if they lended me the book or sent me a copy if they already have it. :P But most of the time I just look up other books similar to the ones I like.

People can make suggestions, and I can reject them.

I'm just very picky about which books that I will read or not read.

I do like to get suggestions for books because I find that everyone has different perspectives on things so I find myself getting a wide range of genres for recommendations.

I think it may depend on who the recommendation comes from.

I love getting book suggestions! doesn't mean I will take it, but talking about books and what makes them good or bad is awesome.

I can read most genres as long as it's something I find interesting and so I really enjoy when people give me suggestions from books that either made them think of me or books that they enjoyed so much they wanted to share. I do feel pressured giving people suggestions because I'm just hoping they'll love it as much as I did
