I prefer to read sitting up on my couch or outside if the weather is nice. Reading is a great way to pass the time at a doctors office or car line also.

My most favourite position to read in is in bed with a pillow behind my back, a pillow under my knees, and a pillow in my lap to prop the book up on. I've found I can read for hours in that position!

I never used to have any issue with my reading posture. I read in pretty much all the postures possible- sitting, lying down, standing, walking-anything. As long as I feel well-rested, my posture does not affect my reading, provided my co-passengers in the public bus are not jostling too much or the road I am walking down does not have too much traffic.

For me its half lying down. Sitting up hurts my spine and I don't enjoy reading novels at my reading table. Those are strictly for school books.

I usually read sitting up on my couch or in my bed. I need to be still and in an environment without too many loud sounds, although sometimes I can read with some background music. I find it almost impossible to read standing or walking.

Laying down in bed with a booklight or lying outside on a lawn chair.

There's really no best way i guess. it's just what works for you at the time. Sometimes, you want to lay down, other times, you sit, it can go either ways.

I typically like to curl up in the recliner with a blanket and read. I'll sometimes have a pillow that I prop on while in the recliner to make it a little easier on my neck.

I usually read sitting in my chair, but I have to share with my dogs. When I was young, I use to sit on the floor between my bed and the wall.

For me, it depends. If it's a physical book copy, I'd be more comfortable sitting up. But if I'm going to read on my phone, I'd prefer to lie down. That way I could get as comfortable as I can.

I don't really have a problem with either because I can read pretty much anywhere. If you want to be laying down while reading without falling asleep then I suggest you get a hammock. It usually makes me nervous that I am going to fall out on my face so it keeps me alert so I suggest you see if it's the same with you.

I read while sitting up, sometimes laying on my stomach, too. I just wish I have a really soft, comfortable chair that wouldn't hurt my back.

I think I don't have a problem. I am comfortable with both positions.
