Yes, every time I come home with my arms full of books. Or, having just moved, look at the unpacked books that I have carted around because I wanted to read them someday. Or they belonged to my mom. Or they were favorites of mine growing up.Tip the Bottle wrote:Do you ever look at your current unread books and think that more books are coming out every week and how will you ever even remotely have the time to read all that you would like?
It's kinda like that Twilight Zone episode where the librarian doesn't have the time to read all he wants.
It's overwhelming sometimes.
I'm not comfortable reading books on my computer, tablet, or phone. I like a real book. I like turning the pages, putting in a bookmark when something else beckons. I love the covers, especially of books for kids. (Speaking of books for kids, I just noticed the May Book of the Month on the side of my screen - Farmer Beau's Farm, by Kathleen Geiger. Adorable cover. I'll have to put it on my bookshelf.)
So, yes, I do feel overwhelmed by the books I see in front of me that I haven't read. I sometimes wish I could be like the people I see walking out of the library with just one book in their hands. That must be a real reader, I think to myself. Ironically, like the idea of the only non-drinkers being alcoholics, it seems to me the people who are most serious about reading focus on one book at a time. It doesn't make sense, I know, but it's how my mind works.

I am a book addict. I love the smell and feel off books. I wish I could read by osmosis, just hold the book and get all the information transferred.
I often give away books as gifts or take them to friends of the library ever if I haven't yet read them
