44 and I just started Remains of the Day! My face fell when I saw the wasp factory on there as I passed it over recently to read jonathan strange and Mr. norrell instead D:

I've read 20 out of 100! I definitely found some interesting future reads on this list. Thanks for the question!

7. It seems like I'd rather read much more obscure non-fiction than popular books.

I'm ashamed to admit I only read 6. I guess BBC was right :(
But there is still time to catch up

11. But many of them are on my "to read" list, and I have bought a bunch of them at used book sales so they're sitting on my shelf.

48 of them I have read. At least three I started but have not finished. One of them I actually read to my mother. Frankly, I think this is a decent list. I'm surprised most have only read 6 of them.

I have read 19 of them. Madame Bovary was definitely not one I would read again because it was sooo long.

23 but I read some so long ago I barely remember them. So not sure if they count.

I've read 29 of them. But there are plenty of good classics that aren't listed that I've read as well.

I've read 32/100, looking through the list there's quite a few that I have on my to-read list, so that number will be going up

I wish I hadn't read this post. I've read 48 that appear on the list. But now I have more books to add to my "list of shame," books that I should have read but still haven't.

I've read 11 of them! Most of them were because of my school's required reading though. That's a very interesting and well-rounded list of books. Thanks for sharing!
