As I stated in a different forum post, if anyone here is following it, I've got two rules when it comes to books:

1. Never reread a book,
2. Never leave a book unfinished.

There are occasions when I have not been able to finish a book, but I have always come back to read it again at a later date.

The Last of the Mohicans. I tried so hard to finish reading this book but I just couldn’t keep the interest in it for long enough.

There are several books that I have started reading but then I found a different book and lost interest in the other books. I always meant to get back to them, maybe I will now.

The Silmarillion. Not because I didn't like it but because I always get interrupted when reading it, for some reason. I'm going to go back to it soon enough.

I never finished Moby Dick. I've tried several times but it bores me so much. I love Queequeg as a character, though.

I always reread my favorite books after a while. There's one I reread almost every year! Everytime I find something new or something I forgot. I'm curious about your reasons to not reread.

I also just answered this for someone else in that other forum 😂 but it's okay 😉

As a reader and a writer, they always say in order to write, you have to read.

I feel like I can learn more by reading as much as I can, and I'd rather spend that time reading more than reading the same thing.

I enjoy learning about and reading about different worlds more than the same ones, so I just prefer it that way.

I don't actually get any enjoyment about reading the same story twice because there are no surprises; I already know everything that's about to happen before it happens.

Make sense? 😊

There are quite a few on this list! However, I would like to mention that I didn't not finish them because they were boring. I just couldn't find the time.
1) Little Women
2) Lolita
3) Storm in a teacup

I'm currently reading the complete collection of the Grimm fairy tales. It's taken me about 5 years so far. And I'm not mad at it since there are so many short stories in the book. I try to read a few a week, but that sometimes doesn't work out. So technically this isn't a "Book I've Never Finished" but it kinda counts. Haha

I rarely ever leave a book unfinished but there is one book that defeated me. I don't even know what the plot was, it was fiction and had to do with going underground and possibly magic? The characters were under developed, the plot and place of the story was scattered and nonsensical. I don't even remember the full name, just that it had the word "Shadows" in the title and there was a silhouette in a cape and top hat on the cover.

I never finished The Bridges of Madison County, it bored me to tears and just recently could not continue with Charlotte Gray. It was too slow and dull. I hate not finishing books to the end, but these two had to go!
I have many of them but the good thing is I don't feel guilty about it.

"As I Lay Dying" by William Faulkner. Despite multiple attempts, I couldn't finish it. It was too monotonous for my liking.
