On Beauty by Zadie Smith
It wasn't a page turner and had so much overdone dialect and the characters fell short. I never wanted to pick it up again after I had read a good 40 pages.

Pride And Prejudice and Persuasion by Jane Austen.

All I remember when I tried to read them is that I didn't understand a thing, I'm not sure why though. But now I decided to reread Pride and Prejudice and see if it was really that incomprehensible.

A Brave New World.

I know. It's suppose to be amazing, so says everyone in every English college course I've ever taken. But each time I try to read it, the prosaic atmosphere of the book engulfs my brain, and mini-Sue up there starts thinking about other books, and fruits.

The Lord of the Rings. I started reading it twice, but never made it to the end.

I have tried over and over again to finish pride and prejudice but I can never really get into it. I have read many long excerpts from the book but I don't think I've actually seen all of it and I couldn't tell you the plot if I was asked.
Where is the line between insanity and creativity?
Is the reality of the world different from how we perceive and experience it in our minds? Does physical reality exist apart from the human mind?

I normally finish every book I read, but I couldn't get past about page 80 in Finnegan's Wake by James Joyce. I had no idea what was going on.

Got so many books like that... I think my goal for the rest of the year should be to finish any unfinished books...I'll Probably start with 'Tell me now, and again'.

I tried reading this too. Sadly, I didn't even made it to 1/8 of the book. After a while I decided to give it to a friend as a gift.

I never finished 'Obsidian' by Jennifer L. Armentrout (Lux, #1). I found the main characters very annoying and boring. After 70 pages I gave up.

I could not finish Amusing Ourselves to Death. I had to read it for an English class. It was so dry and boring! Most of it seemed irrelevant to today. It was written for the 60s, I think.

"A Tale of Two Cities" - Charles Dickens

I found it to be terribly boring. I was supposed to write a paper on it, too, but just couldn't get through it. I ended up skimming the Cliff's Notes. Luckily, I'm a writer, so faking my way through a paper on it was a piece of cake. I got an A.

I have two on this list: Ulysses by Joyce and Remembrance of Things Past by Proust. Joyce's work had me all confused, and Proust's sentences that went on for pages had me begging for mercy.

The first Harry Potter book - I tried it out of curiosity because of the hype, but it just was not my style.

Me too. I wasn't well at the time so thought it would be a good time to read this one. I had made it more than halfway through, then I recovered and I just couldn't face the rest of the book!
